WOW it has been a long time. Gruber and I have been failing at this. Last time we posted was way back in the summer when we were all ambitious to post 2 times a week. Low and behold we got side tracked by life. Gruber is now in her second semester of PT school!! Wahoo only 4 more left, dude!! And I got a job as a RN working nights at the U of M hospital. But enough about us. We are super boring at this point. Gruber studies 24/7 and I work all the time.
In lieu of this horrible never ending Minnesota winter, my friend Jamie (another night nurse) and I have been planning summer shenanigans at 3am. Cause what else is there to do at 3am. I will give you a list of things that I am personally planning. A lot of it depends on other people getting their poop in a group (aka Gruber, Jamie, Gracia, and B-rad).
1) Road trip with Gruber to Door County, Wis to watch E run in a marathon. This will be an epic weekend of bestfriendness! This will be the first time since December I have seen her and I don't think Gruber has seen E since we graduated. So lots of hugs, girl talk, sing-a-longs, and drinking will be in order.
2) Road trip to Chicago to see my high school friend Shideh! This kid was an amazing baker back in high school. And now she is in a French Pastry school. My tummy can't wait to taste some of the delicious things she can make now! Plus it will be my first time in Chicago so I will get to explore some. Anyone got good places to go?
3) Visit my Aunt and Uncle in Iowa. They live in a beautiful little town in eastern Iowa, close to were my grandpa use to live. One thing that I treasured a lot about my childhood was going to my Grandpa's house/farms in Iowa. For some reason small towns, corn fields, skipping rocks in the river, and family are a perfect concoction for a great time.
4) Go back to Oregon! I know it will happen in August, but not sure when. Depends on if my brother and his gf are going back. If they go back it will be at the end of August. This will be an interesting trip since it will be the first time my parents and I will meet her. She better be ready for an interrogation by Papa P. If they don't go back, I am for sure going back at the beginning cause the MLS all stars are playing Bayern Munich in Portland on Aug 6th. Bayern is my favorite European team and I would give my right arm to see them kill the MLS all stars.
5) Bike the Door County Century with E and Jamie. It is an awesome bike ride around the peninsula. We plan on riding 50 miles. It is a LONG bike ride but it has some amazing views. Plus you got a ton of free food. (https://www.doorcountycentury.com/).
Random things to do.
-outdoor movies
-patios
-bonfires
-biking the trail behind my house out to Stillwater
-hanging out with friends
-summer soccer
-alumni soccer game
-not hiding inside like last summer
We promise to post more often (or at least I will on behalf of Gruber).

Muggle Candy of the Eye
KP and I are obviously both soccer fans but we also like to appreciate the really good looking muggles (people who don't play sports). So gentlemen, if any are reading this, sorry but this is going to be full of good looking men......sorry if you don't appreciate this as much as the ladies, and if you do, more power to you.
In NO particular order here are some of the men who KP and I look at and say DAYUM.
1. Joseph Gordon Levitt
From his humble beginnings as a martian on Third Rock From the Sun, this kid has rose through the ranks and established himself not only as a good actor (ANYTHING he's done in the last few years) but one good looking guy. Best JGL moment? His 2013 SNL monologue I can personally vouch for any women watching it we have never been more into the song "It's Raining men".
2. Ryan Gosling
That Mr. Gosling made this list is about as surprising as Harry Potter beating Voldemort (If you didn't get that reference, please just stop reading now). There is clearly a reason that he was the number one result when I googled Ryan. Just look at him. And apparently he's a nice guy too. Sometimes I like to say it's too good to be true but then I just get accept it and go watch Crazy Stupid Love.
3. James McAvoy
Two words...Scottish accent. Mr. McAvoy it is a pleasure to watch you in whatever you do.
4. Mathew Lewis
Ahhh Mathew Lewis. Best known for his role as Neville Longbottom from the Harry Potter movie series this kid is a real life example of growing into your looks. Just watch the movies from 1-7 and you'll see the metamorphosis of this guy into the looker he is today.
5. Chris Pine
The younger generation first met him when he was in the Princess diaries 2 as the potential king we just couldn't hate no matter how hard we tried. Him being picked to play Captain Kirk in the Star Trek's big screen revival was probably one of the smartest moves the franchise could have made I think literally every woman with eyes became a Star trek fan that day.
6. Adam Levine
Lead singer of Maroon 5 this guy has it all. The looks, he's funny, he has moves like Jagger, and the boy makes tattoos look good. I'm pretty sure if he called me to bail him out of jail I would be there in 5 seconds flat.
7. Christian Bale
Batman anyone? Australian and a damn good actor what more could you want? Oh and he can also sing, just watch the Newsies, Jack steals the show.
8. Jude Law...With Glasses
Just like Ricky Bobby in Talledega nights likes baby Jesus the best we like the Holiday Jude law the best. I don't know what it is but add glasses to his face and his attractiveness level goes up exponentially, KP is really the expert on this issue I am just a commenter
9. Michael Fassbender
Looking like that in Inglorious Bastards, I think yes. Thank you Quentin Tarintino.
10. Johnathan Rhys Meyers
Originally introduced to most of us in Bend it Like Beckham I literally don't think I have to day anything about this IRISH (questionably the best accent ever, just kidding it’s not even a question) actor.
11. Enrique Iglesias
This guy can make anyone bust a gut singing in the car and do a double take looking at. This is not something many people can do.
12. Charlie Hunnam
Popularized in the US from his role on Sons of Anarchy. But you should all really know him from his role in Green Street Hooligans, watch it......DO IT
There are obviously so many more guys that have DAYUM proportions besides those on this list, these are just the ones that KP and I talk about most frequently.

Soccer Eye Candy
It has been a while since we had a post. But with the EPL and all the other European leagues starting up soon Gruber and I decided we would dedicate a post to all the beautiful men that play such a wonderful game. So in no particular order here are ten wonderful men!
Coming from the power house Spain
Coming from the power house Spain
Sergi Roberto
He is one of the new guys on Barca this year. Hopefully this young heart throb will be seen in many more years to come.
Gerard Pique
Gruber nicknamed him the Aaron Rodgers of Spain. It also helps that he is Shakira's boyfriend.
Juan Mata
Plan and simple he is one of the only regulars in the Spanish national team that doesn't play for Real or Barca. Props to you Mata!
Cesc Fabregas
Just look at that blue steal look. Derek Zoolander would be envious.
Now on to yet another great country... it is time for zee Germans
Bastian Schweinsteiger
With an awesome name like that he was bound for greatness. Plus he looks pretty damn fine in a suit.
Michael Ballack
He is the older man of the group but really can you even tell?
Lukas Podolski
A guy with major hops, a sense of humor, and has an amazing left foot. Um YES!
Now lets take a quick trip to a neighbor down south Brazil.
Kaka
Probably one of the nicest soccer players out there. Even though he doesn't get a ton of minutes he still makes a difference. You really can't hate him.
I mean we are Americans so we had to put in at least a couple of them.
Carlos Bocanegra
Man ESPN you really made playing soccer in the mud so enjoyable. mmmmmm....
Stuart Holden
It is so sad that he tore his ACL. But DANG God Bless America!
America for the win!

You're the Frosting to My Cake
Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, 'What! You too? I thought I was the only one. ~ C. S. Lewis
I have no clue when that moment was for Gruber and I, but second semester freshman year was the start to this best friendship. A little background for those of you who don't know the whole story. Gruber and I met on the soccer team our freshman year at St. Kate's, but we didn't really hangout till second semester freshman year cause she lived in the reject dorms and so I never saw her besides at soccer. Then we ended up being lab partners in "Mystery Chem Lab." For this class we had to do full lab write ups, so every Wednesday night we would meet up and eat dinner in the caf, go write up our lab at the "professional desk" in the basement of the library, and then go watch the weekly Wednesday movie in JDA.
So we aren't like all the other girls that are like, "OH YOU ARE TOTALLY MY BFF!!" and then fight a week later and never talk again. We also are not like other girls that are BFFs with every girl they meet. Gruber and I are BFFs to the utmost meaning of the words. Just to show you how well we know each other and how well we get along here are a few examples.
1) The name of this post is just like Gruber and I. I love cake and hate frosting and Gruber loves frosting and hates cake. So whenever we get cupcakes I will take off the frosting and leave it for Gruber to eat later.
2) WE LOVE SOCCER, FOOTBALL (the European one of course) or FUTBOL (whichever you think is the correct term)!!! We also LOVE AMERICA!! So we are really into the US national soccer teams. But Gruber is really into the men's side (aka Clint Dempsey) and I am really into the women's side (Megan Rapineo and pretty much the whole team minus Hope Solo). So we are constantly informed of how each side is doing.
3) Whenever we eat a meal together and I don't like something, Gruber eats it for me.
4) Number 3 also applies to candy.
5) Okay now for a non-food one. Gruber is going to go to graduate school for Physical Therapy and I just graduated with a nursing degree. So it works out really nicely when I need to be taped before one of your coed games. And she comes to me whenever she or her mom thinks she might have some sickness or disease.
6) We also know exactly what to get each other for gifts. Gruber knows my undying love for Harry Potter so she got me a nicely framed artwork of HP for my birthday. For Christmas this year I know Gruber wanted a new pair of sweatpants and I was able to pick the correct size and color!
7) Most important reason why we are best friends forever is that we know each other like the back of our own hands. I know that pretty much everyday after work (aka 6ish to about 7:30) Gruber is working out. Gruber knows that I LOVE steak! And that as a hilarious marriage proposal I would think it would be cool if my future husband put a ring in a steak for me to find. Those are just a couple weird things, there are many many more.
Here are some friendships that we think we are comparable too.
1) Kristen Wigg and Maya Rudolph in Bridesmaid
2) Megan Rapineo and Lori Lindsey on the US National Soccer Team
3) Tina Fey and Amy Poehler
4) Oprah and Gayle
5) Jess and Jules from Bend it Like Beckham
6) Mike and Sully from Monsters Inc.
7) Hassel and Derek from Zoolander at the end of the movie
8) Lloyd and Harry from Dumb and Dumber
9) Woody and Buzz from Toy Story
10) Ferris and Cameron from Ferris Bueller's Day Off
If you laugh really loud, talk spontaneously, and you don't care what your face looks like... you are probably with your best friends. - Unknown

KP after 9
Lets dive into brains of Gruber (aka Abby) and I. I find it funny that I of all people am writing this post since it is basically about my stupidity over the last 3 years. So lets get started!
(This was the wall as of Oct 2012. By the end of the year it was the whole wall)
So "KP after 9" started our sophomore year of college. It all began when Gruber, our friend Bridget, and I were talking about what age you would be if you were in a certain grade. Instead of asking, "What grade would you be in when you are 8?," I asked "How old are you when you are 8?" This kind of event had happened a couple time before and specifically after 9pm (2100 for you military time people). And thus began "KP after 9." Now three years later we have compiled 52 "KP after 9" worthy quotes. The majority of them are mine but other contributors are Gruber, our roommates Elizabeth, Taylaur, and Ashley (I think you got one in there), Mo (a soccer girl and honorary 5th roomie), and a special friend T-Swift. So without further adieu here are some highlights from "KP after 9!"
1) This comes straight out of the mouth of our bff E (aka Elizabeth). I am not sure how she came to this point but she must have had a legitimate reasoning.
"I picture basketball in North Korea to be like the Hunger Games."
2) Now, if you truly were friends with us, you knew that second semester senior year Sunday nights were devoted to TLC. We watched Gypsy Sisters and Myrtle Manor. If you haven't watched an episode of either one they are just the trashiest/weirdest/very red neck-ish tv shows. I would say Gypsy Sisters is like the Real Housewives shows but low income and on crack. E started off watch these shows with us but mid season she could take no more. In response to why she stopped watching...
"This is causing major stress in my life."
3) This past MN winter was never ending. In the midst of the winter, Winter Storm Brutus came upon us. This is when Ashley made her first appearance on the wall.
"I hate Winter Storm Bulbasaur!"
(I have no clue how Weather channel chooses names, but after Winter Storm Nemo, Bulbasaur should be a contender now.)
4) Gruber and mine's one year roomie/ bff Taylaur had a couple really great quotes over the years but her shining moment came from sophomore year. Tay was on the go all year. Because of this she would stuff a lot of snacks (granola bars, fruit, and a ziplock bag of nuts) in her purse so she wouldn't starve. One day while getting ready to leave she was digging through her purse for her keys when she exclaimed...
"I punctured my nut sack!"
5) First semester Gruber was in a history of East Asia class. While studying for her final she became so overwhelmed with the amount of things she needed to know about China and how it functioned she said...
"I don't know how China is a thing!"
6) Our good teammate Mo has Celiac Disease [she can't eat gluten (aka she doesn't eat anything good)]. The downside is that her favorite treat is Oreos (they have gluten in them)! So in order to get her fix she does some weird stuff. One night we were eating Oreos and she asked us this gem...
"Can I just smell them?"
7) Now for some of my great quotes. Most of mine come from miss reading, miss saying, or mixing words together. Here goes! In our caf they have little event calendars on the tables. While reading one at dinner I said this,
"Invisible poetry? What is that?"
What the sign said was inDIVISible poetry.
8) In St. Paul there is a wonderful bakery called P.J Murphy's. In hopes of going one day I was so excited that I mixed P. J. Murphy's with P. F. Changs and came up with...
"Yum P.F. Murphy's" (Chinese bakery!)
9) Lastly, this quote was my shining glory of last semester and proof that watching Jersey Shore makes you loose brain cells. While watching J-Shore one day they were trying to figure out how to spell hor d'oeuvres (I didn't even know how to spell it). I created a great word as a replacement.
"Why don't they just say Appaturs?"
In the words of Liz Lemon "BLURG." And I hope that while you read them our stupidity gave you a good chuckle.

Summer Check List
Today's find goes to my main lady Pino (KP). As per usual Buzzfeed did not disappoint and has provided us with a summer to do list that will challenge our very beings. We say CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.
There are items that will be quite easy to complete just by existing in summer, like eating snacks on the beach #11 ( I don't know who can go to the beach and not eat, it just isn't right) or eating tomatoes #18,19 (who doesn't eat tomatoes on the regular?!), falling asleep in a hammock #46 ( I was under the impression that they were made for sleeping, with such a weird name the inventor must have been sleepy or sleeping at the time, obviously they were thinking of names while in the hammock), Or stuffing your face on the 4th of July #47, I'm pretty sure the founding fathers intended that to be a part of the celebration and just forgot to write it down because they were all late for their bean bag tourney at Herbie Hancock's BBQ.
But the list also contains some tasks that would challenge anyone (How do you grill a cocktail? Is that even a thing? #9) , eating melon and prosciutto #45 while seemingly easy look at the picture, no one's will look like that! Pino and I are going to have one heck of a time getting ours to look like that, I am no Bobby Flay. #53 will be a challenge purely because there is no "Mr. Softie" in MN that I know of. Pino I think we'll just have to Maverick it and name someone Mr. Softie (preferably and older gentlemen who is grandfatherly) and pay him to deliver us ice cream cones frequently.
There will be items that challenge a specific member of our little duo, yeah that's you Pino. #2 and 4 because they involve dairy (interesting fact peanut gallery Pino is lactose and tolerant, a fact that I forget most days). # 10, 26, 27 because they involve fruit that is warm and she weirdly doesn't like it (apparently it tastes "fuzzy" aka YOU ARE WEIRD). # 9,12,13, 21, 28, 31, 32, 36, 38, 40, 43, 49 and 58 will also be challenging for because they involve drinking, good luck with that one. Accepting this challenge just gave KP's summer a whole new outlook.
Overall this list is an epic culmination of drinking, eating and relaxing, exactly what summer should be. Go ahead, check it out, it may possibly guarantee you the most summer fun you've ever had.... unless you are Dany Zuko or Sandy, if you are, no promises. Otherwise we challenge you to complete all 60. May the odds be ever in your favor.
